1. Agreement to these terms

By using the Future Story Lab website, submitting a form or using an online service we provide, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website or submit information through it.

2. About Future Story Lab

Future Story Lab works with individuals, organizations and communities to recognize assets already present, explore new economic stories, strengthen local culture and commerce, and develop practical pathways from ideas to action.

The website describes our work, ideas and current intentions. It does not create a public agency, professional-services relationship, partnership, joint venture, employment relationship or promise that any specific project, collaboration or engagement will proceed.

3. Participation and acceptable use

You may use the website for lawful personal, community, organizational and informational purposes. You agree not to:

• Submit information that is false, misleading, unlawful, threatening, harassing or invasive of another person's privacy.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation.
• Attempt to interfere with the website, forms, security or service providers.
• Use contact information obtained through Future Story Lab to spam, harass or exploit others.

We may restrict access, disregard a submission or end participation when reasonably necessary to protect people, Future Story Lab or its work.

The website form is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact us for a child under 13. People under 18 should use the site and participate in Future Story Lab activities with the knowledge and involvement of a parent or guardian when appropriate.

5. Ideas, messages and other submissions

You retain any ownership you already have in original material you submit. By sending an idea, comment, photograph or other material to Future Story Lab, you give us permission to review, store, reproduce and share it within Future Story Lab and with prospective collaborators when reasonably related to evaluating, discussing or advancing the purpose for which you submitted it.

Please tell us if information is confidential before sending it. Submission alone does not create a confidential, fiduciary, compensation or ownership relationship, and we cannot promise that an idea will be selected, funded or implemented.

6. Email and text messages

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Text HELP for assistance and reply STOP to opt out. Consent to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of working with or contacting Future Story Lab. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Website content and ownership

Unless otherwise indicated, the website's original text, design and Future Story Lab identity are owned by or used with permission of Future Story Lab. Historical publications, press excerpts, photographs, organization names and third-party marks remain the property of their respective owners.

You may share links to the website and quote reasonable portions for commentary, education or community discussion with attribution. You may not present Future Story Lab content as your own, use our identity to imply endorsement or commercially reproduce substantial portions without permission.

Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Texas law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim concerning the website, you agree to contact us and make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue informally. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, legal proceedings will take place in state or federal courts serving Travis County, Texas.

12. Changes and severability

We may update these terms as Future Story Lab's services and activities change. The revised terms become effective when posted with a new effective date. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
